Our Commitment
Myskill’s Training Solutions is dedicated to providing accessible and inclusive learning experiences. We aim to remove barriers so learners with disabilities, physical or mental health conditions, have equal opportunity to participate in our training programs and assessments.
Definition of Reasonable Adjustments
Reasonable adjustments are modifications or accommodations made to the assessment process, course materials, or learning environment to minimize the impact of a disability or health condition without compromising the integrity of the learning objectives or certification standards.
Eligibility
Students with any disability or impairment that might affect their ability to access our training programs or fully demonstrate their knowledge and skills may be eligible for reasonable adjustments. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Physical disabilities
- Sensory impairments (visual, hearing)
- Learning disabilities (e.g., dyslexia)
- Mental health conditions (e.g., anxiety, depression)
- Chronic health conditions
Requesting Adjustments
- Timing: We encourage students to disclose their need for adjustments as early as possible. Please contact mail@myskills.ca to discuss your specific needs.
- Documentation: We may request supporting documentation from a qualified professional to confirm the nature of the disability or condition and assist in determining appropriate adjustments.
Types of Adjustments
Examples of reasonable adjustments may include:
- Extended time for assessments
- Alternative formats for course materials (e.g., large print, audio)
- Assistive technology
- Quiet testing environments
- Breaks during assessments
Decision-Making
- Individualized Approach: Adjustments are determined on a case-by-case basis, considering the student’s needs, course requirements, and maintaining the integrity of the certification.
- Collaboration: We work with the student and, where appropriate, external advisors to identify the most suitable adjustments.
Confidentiality
Information related to a student’s disability or health condition is treated with confidentiality and respect.
Appeals
If a student disagrees with the decision regarding their requested adjustments, they may appeal according to the process outlined in our Appeals Policy.
